On Saturday December 3, 2016 our community suffered a great loss. Kevin M. Flores was taken from us all too soon while riding his motorcycle when he was hit by a drunk driver in front of his home. He was a husband, father, brother, coach and friend to so many throughout Tehama county.
When we became the new owners of Bob's Auto & Truck Painting in Dairyville a year and a half ago, we were lucky enough to convince Kevin to stay on as an employee. Kevin was a well known face at the business for over 30 years and respected throughout the north state within the painting community. It didn't take long to realize why he was so popular among the customers, both local and out of area. Though he was in arguably a talented painter and artist second to none with a strong work ethic, it was his ability to strike a conversation with anyone that walked thru the door that you couldn't miss. His warm heart and infectious laughs are why so many of us will remember him with a smile for years to come.
I imagine it will take quite some time for both us and our community to get used to not seeing him and sharing a laugh when stopping in at the shop. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Kevin leaves behind his wife Kathy and four sons, among so many others. We have created a Go Fund Me account to help Kathy and Kevin's youngest son Levi in the months to come as they say their goodbyes and mourn the loss of a great man. If you are at all able to help it will be greatly appreciated by us as well as Kevin's family. Every bit helps, even just a share on social media. God Bless and Merry Christmas to all!
